Old Salem is located near downtown Winston-Salem. It is a great way to experience the way life was back in the 1800's for the people of Winston-Salem. I visited Old Salem in the third grade, and recently went back to explore more. In the town there is a bakery, a large garden, horse stables, a general store, a tavern, and much more. There are people who work in the town who dress in clothes from the 1800's and re-enact life as it was then.

I recently visited Old Salem with my mom and had the chance to explore a bit more. We went to the Old Salem Tavern, pictured below, and had a meal. It was so fun to see the people who worked there dressed in old style clothes! As we walked around we saw more people dressed up, and all throughout the town the people re-enact life in the 1800's.
